The Last Mrs. Parrish
“The Last Mrs. Parrish” was a great psychological thriller! I loved how the book is set up; the first half tells the story from Amber Patterson’s point of view, then the second half tells the exact same story from Daphne Parrish’s. Usually, authors will go back and forth chapter by chapter, but Liv Constantine does something different by switching mid-book and it really, really works. I loved seeing the exact same incidents told from two different angles, because the discrepancies that happen are so indictive of real life.
Readers first meet Amber Patterson, a poor, divorced woman from nowhere who is determined to change her station in life. Then we meet Daphne Parrish, the rich, beautiful wife of Jackson Parrish. From Amber’s point of view, Daphne’s life is perfect, and she wants that life for herself. And that means getting Jackson away from Daphne by any means necessary.
The book follows what Amber is willing to do to make that happen, and what Daphne thinks about it all. Well written and thought provoking, this book kept me guessing until the very end.
P.S. The follow-up to this book “The Next Mrs. Parrish” is out now!
