I actually really liked this book. By Karen McManus, the author of One of Us Is Lying, a NY Times Best-seller, I actually liked The Cousins just as much (if not alittle more) than that one. Like One of Us Is Lying, this book is considered a YA novel and is told from different points-of-view. Each chapter switches narrator, which got alittle confusing for me in One of Us Is Lying since it involved a lot of characters. On the other hand, The Cousins only have three, so that made it easier for me to follow. It tells the story of a mysterious rich grandma living in a huge resort on an island. She’s estranged from her children and grandchildren, which makes it a huge surprise when she invites her two granddaughters and one grandson to spend the summer with her working at the resort. Their parents, desperate to either reconnect with their mother or her money, demand each child go. So those are the three cousins of the title.
